explained by Zaha Hadid Architects.
The Xi'an International Football Center will continue this tradition of building a lasting legacy of new public spaces, sports, and entertainment facilities that serve the city and its people.
The facades of the stadium symbolize the shape of: "An open envelope that invites the city into the heart of the building. While its dynamic volume protects the stadium from the northern winds, it transfers its fluid forms to the roof, which protects the stands." In fact, the geometry of the stands, resembling the shape of a saddle, was digitally generated to optimize proximity and views of the playing field, as well as to maximize seating around the central area of the field.
